Croft 3

Croft 3 is a restaurant and event space on a working croft on the Isle of Mull. It is owned and operated by Jeanette Lynn, who previously operated a charming, humble eatery from her home. The building in its current state was adapted by the architectural practice fardaa, but it incorporates a substantial ruined byre built 150 years earlier. The designs for the building were a response to this ruin, to the dramatic landscape beyond, and to the earlier restaurant.

The project won the 2024 RIBA Reinvention award for the best adapted building in the UK. It was also a winner at the 2024 Civic Trust awards and the RIAS awards.
